All data is stored on a secure server managed by the San Diego State University Research Foundation.
Yes. All eCHECKUP TO GO transactions are conducted across an encrypted 256 bit Secure Sockets Layer (Transport Layer Security (TLS)). All drinking/drug use behavior data are stored on a secure server managed by the San Diego State University Research Foundation and are confidential and anonymous. eCHECKUP TO GO user ID numbers are randomly generated 9 to 12-digit numbers.
The dedicated server is managed by the Interwork Institute at San Diego State University and updated regularly based upon the security guidelines of San Diego State University. Every day, analyzed logs and rootkit checks are reviewed by the system administrator.
All eCHECKUP TO GO subscriptions include the optional use of the Electronic Verification of Completion (EVC) program. When activated, this program provides positive verification that a respondent has completed the program. This option is available at no additional cost.
The Personal Reflections Program is an additional tool used by campuses who are asking students to create written responses to a series of prompts. It includes all the functionality of the EVC and provides the respondent with a guided opportunity to thoughtfully reflect on their own personal drinking profile. There is a small additional fee if you would like to add the PRP subscription.
Yes, this can be done in a variety of ways including using the Electronic Verification of Completion feature, by way of the certificate of completion, or if using the Practitioner Program, tracking students through the Administrative Site, whom you have referred to complete the program.
Your subscription includes unlimited use at your campus site which enables you to use them flexibly both as prevention and intervention tools as well as a sanctioning option. Students are able to complete the program more than once and their feedback is personalized to them based on their current use, perception of other’s use, values and goals at the time they complete it. Unlike educational course that are often completed once, the eCHECKUP TO GO can be used both for prevention and intervention efforts.
Each evidence-based module is designed to be completed in about 20 minutes.
Yes! You can implement the program(s) campus-wide for your prevention and intervention efforts. If you are interested in segregating the data by department, you might consider using the Practitioner Program.
Yes! The programs can be used as a stand-alone intervention for judicial sanctions. They can also be integrated into Motivational Interviewing-based programs such as BASICS and other alcohol and other drug, violence prevention or mental health interventions.
Yes! According to the NIAAA, eCHECKUP TO GO is ranked “highly effective” as an intervention for colleges and universities.
Yes! We can implement Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions for Microsoft Azure or SAML compliant authentication procedures (e.g., Shibboleth).
Yes! Standard customization is included in the price of your subscription. For additional customization needs or for use of the eCHECKUP TO GO in a research study, please contact the Program Director, Dr. Leslie Wilson, at echeckup@sdsu.edu, to discuss the customization process.
Yes! Subscribers have access to an on-line summary report, which provides up-to-the-minute descriptive statistics about all respondents who have completed the eCHECKUP TO GO. Additionally, we allow approved users to download their institution’s raw data in a comma-separated variable format.
