The eCHECKUP TO GO programs are personalized, evidence-based online behavior interventions developed by counselors and psychologists at San Diego State University. They are currently in use on over 600 universities and institutions in four countries.
Our substance-related programs include Alcohol, Cannabis, and Tobacco. We also provide a Sexual Violence Prevention program. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive Practitioner Package for campuses and communities that would like to take advantage of the full suite of programs. All programs provide electronic verification of completion and administrative reports at no additional cost.
The eCHECKUP TO GO substance programs are designed to motivate individuals to reduce their consumption using personalized information about their own use and risk factors. The programs are updated with the most current and reliable research available.
Our Sexual Violence Prevention program is designed to augment your campus's policies, procedures and programming to address the Campus SaVE Act requirements. We focused on clarity, ease of use and accessibility.

Each individual program takes about 20-30 minutes to complete. The programs are self-guided and require no face-to-face time with a counselor or administrator.
Should a campus administrator, counselor, or faculty member want the student to spend more time reflecting on and responding to their feedback, the student can be asked to complete the companion “Personal Reflections” component for the Alcohol or Cannabis programs.
The Personal Reflections add-on requires and additional 15-20 minutes and asks students to respond to questions designed to deepen their thoughtful examination of their personal choices and the social norms surrounding and influencing their behaviors. The specific questions are determined by each individual student’s unique eCHECKUP TO GO profile.
Because they are offered online, the eCHECKUP TO GO programs can provide quick, confidential feedback in multiple settings. This also allows a student to complete a personal “check-up” on multiple occasions to track changes in use and risk behavior.
With regard to substance use, the personal feedback, used in conjunction with counseling, or as a stand-alone intervention, includes information that has been shown to be particularly motivating to high school and college-aged young adults:
